Getting Here
Nearest airport is Boise (BOI), about 30 minutes to Caldwell. We meet at the field — the meeting location and time go out with your booking confirmation.
What To Bring
Hunting license, migratory bird permit, signed federal duck stamp, shotgun, shells, layered camo, waders, waterproof mud boots, blind bag, and hand warmers.
Gear, clothing, licenses, and bag limits.
Required Licenses
- Idaho Hunting License
- Migratory Bird Permit
- Federal Duck Stamp (must be signed)
Licenses can be purchased through Idaho Fish & Game.
What To Bring
- Hunting licenses (printed or on phone)
- Shotgun + shells — our recommendation is 3" #2 shot for the all-rounder; 3" BB works well for late-season Canada geese
- Layered camo (Idaho weather can run negative to 65°F in waterfowl season)
- Waders and waterproof mud boots
- Warm gloves or shooting gloves
- Hand warmers
- Blind bag with your essentials
- Snacks and water (we provide breakfast in the blind when possible)
Idaho Bag & Possession Limits
- Daily bag: 7 ducks (no more than 2 hen mallards), 5 Canada / cackling geese, 20 snow geese
- Possession: 21 ducks, 15 Canada geese, 60 snow geese
Limits and regulations can change — we'll confirm what's current when we confirm your booking.
Weather Reality
Idaho waterfowl season runs cold and unpredictable. Plan for windchill, layered base layers, and waterproof outerwear. Bring more than you think you need — it's easier to peel layers than to wish for them.
FAQs.
What's the deposit and cancellation policy?
Please reach out for current deposit and cancellation terms — we'll go over them when we confirm your dates.
Do I need a hunting license?
Yes. Every hunter needs a valid Idaho hunting license, a migratory bird permit, and a signed federal duck stamp. These can be purchased online through Idaho Fish & Game.
What's included in the price?
Experienced guides, trained gun dogs, decoy spread and blinds, and breakfast in the blind when possible. Bird cleaning is available on-site for $3 per bird.
Are gratuities expected?
Tips for guides and dog handlers are appreciated but never required. The amount is up to you and the day you had in the field.
Can non-hunting guests come along?
Reach out before booking — we can usually accommodate non-hunting guests depending on the day's setup and group size.
How early should I book?
Snow goose dates fill the fastest. The earlier we know your group and ideal window, the better we can put you on birds.
Where do we meet?
Meeting location goes out with your booking confirmation — usually a designated field address near Caldwell. We confirm the time the night before based on weather.
Do you guide late-season Canada geese?
Yes. Late-season Canada geese are part of our Duck & Canada Geese package — bring 3" BB shells for the giants and dress for cold.
Can I bring my own dog?
We bring trained retrievers to every hunt, but in some cases personal dogs can join. Ask when you book.
What if the weather turns?
Idaho waterfowl is a weather sport. If conditions make the hunt unsafe or unproductive, we'll work with you to reschedule — communication is part of how we run the operation.
